Browning
The Browning Maxus II Sporting is a gas-operated autoloading shotgun built for the clay range, and it's the kind of 12-gauge that rewards solid technique with consistent performance. This is a 2024 SHOT Show special edition engineered specifically for sporting clays and skeet, combining the proven reliability of the Maxus platform with refinements that make it easier to shoot well—especially the adjustable comb, which lets you dial in your sight picture without guesswork. You get a satin-finish Turkish walnut stock with a close-radius grip, matte black metal, and Browning's Inflex II Recoil Pad to keep your shoulder comfortable through a long squad.
The Maxus II Sporting ships with five Midas Grade choke tubes (Full, Improved Modified, Modified, Improved Cylinder, and Skeet), so you're ready to work birds at any reasonable distance. The HiViz TriComp fiber optic front sight and ivory mid-bead make your target acquisition fast and precise, especially in variable light. Under the hood, you're looking at Browning's Power Drive System gas action, a nickel-teflon-coated bore for easy cleaning, a chrome chamber, back-bored technology, and a ramped trigger guard. The Lightning Trigger is crisp, the oversize bolt handle and bolt release make operation smooth even in gloves, and Speed Load Plus keeps you moving between birds. Magazine Cut-off and TurnKey Magazine Plug options round out the package for flexibility at the range or in the field.
This shotgun arrives in an ABS hard case and is set up with a shim-adjustable stock and SoftFlex cheekpad for comfort during extended shooting sessions. If you shoot sporting clays seriously or want a 12-gauge that handles both clay and game with equal competence, the Maxus II Sporting delivers the fit, finish, and feature set to compete and hunt.
