Brownells
When you're running a modern AR platform—whether you're competing at a match, training hard at the range, or building a serious defensive rifle—the small stuff matters as much as the big stuff. The Brownells AR-15/M16 oversized magazine release button replaces your factory control with an upgrade engineered for speed and reliability. If you've ever fumbled a mag change under pressure or missed the button on a timed stage, you know the frustration. This aftermarket button gives you a larger target and better mechanics to keep reloads fast and sure.
The core advantage is physical: nearly three times the surface area of a standard factory button, with a flat, generous finger pad that's harder to miss when adrenaline is running high. The .225-inch height gain puts the button in a more accessible position and provides extra leverage, ensuring the magazine catch fully disengages on the first attempt. Precision machining and a crisp 24 lpi checkering pattern lock your finger in place without slip, even when your hands are wet or gloved. Built from 4140 steel and heat-treated for durability, then finished in black oxide for corrosion resistance—this is a part designed to outlast your trigger finger.
Installation is straightforward as a drop-in replacement, though minor fitting may be required depending on your specific lower receiver. It's the kind of small upgrade that doesn't change how your rifle looks or feels fundamentally, but makes every mag change incrementally faster and more reliable—and in competition or a serious moment, incrementals add up.
