Brownells
The Brownells AR-15 double heatshield carbine handguard is a practical drop-in replacement for rifles running carbine-length gas systems. Built to manage heat without excess bulk, this two-piece handguard delivers a slimmer profile than full-size rails while keeping your hand protected from hot barrels during extended shooting sessions. The dual heat shields—top and bottom—work together to dissipate heat away from your grip, making it a smart choice for range days, tactical training, or any rifle where sustained fire is part of the plan.
What sets this handguard apart is its balance of form and function. You get genuine heat management from both sides of the tube, but in a lighter, less cumbersome package than oversized modular systems. The black finish blends cleanly with most carbine builds and doesn't draw unnecessary attention. Installation is straightforward for anyone comfortable with basic AR assembly—no special tools or gunsmithing required.
Whether you're building a classic M4-profile AR or refreshing an existing carbine, this Brownells handguard handles the job without the weight or complexity of modern KeyMod or Picatinny-laden alternatives. It's the kind of no-nonsense part that appeals to shooters who value reliability and practical design over feature creep. The seven mounting holes on both top and bottom give you flexibility to attach accessories if you need them, but don't force a rail system on you if you don't.
