Blakemore
The Blakemore Road Runner Head Pro Series 1/8 oz underspin is a compact crappie jig designed to match the aggressive feeding patterns of slab crappie in lakes and rivers across the country. Built with a gold-colored willow blade that generates flash and vibration in the water column, this four-pack of chartreuse heads delivers the visibility and action crappie can't resist. The 1/8 oz weight sits in that sweet spot for moderate depths and current—heavy enough to reach structure without sinking away from where crappie are holding, yet light enough for precise vertical presentations and slow, natural fall rates that trigger bites.
Chartreuse is one of the most reliable colors in crappie fishing, especially in stained or slightly darker water where contrast matters. The Road Runner Head's underspin design keeps the blade separated from the jig body, maximizing that tantalizing wobble and thump that crappie key on. This is the setup serious crappie anglers reach for when they want a compact profile on a heavy-enough jig to work deeper runs and swifter current without constant re-casting.
Whether you're fishing a spring spawn in a creek channel, working a channel ledge in summer, or hunting winter congregations along deeper drop-offs, the Road Runner Head Pro Series gives you the flash, action, and proven color in one efficient package. Four jigs per pack means you've got backups when snags or aggressive strikes claim a head—because crappie fishing is about staying in the water, not fumbling in the box.
| Weight | 1/8 oz |
| Quantity | 4 jigs per pack |
| Head Color | Chartreuse |
| Blade Type | Willow blade, gold color |
| Hook Size | #1 |
| Style | Underspin (Road Runner Head Pro Series) |
The main difference is weight and hook size. The 1/8 oz model (this one) comes with a size #1 hook and is better for moderate depths and current. The 1/16 oz version uses a larger size #2 Bleeding Bait hook and is lighter, suited for shallower, slower-moving water.
The 1/8 oz weight works well for fishing moderate depths, creeks with some current, channel ledges, and situations where you need enough heft to reach structure without sinking too fast. It's a versatile middle-ground weight for most crappie situations.
The Road Runner Head is designed as a head only—you'll rig it with your choice of live minnow or soft plastic crappie lure. Chartreuse pairs well with natural minnows or bright soft plastics in stained water, or subtle colors in clearer conditions.
Each pack contains four Road Runner Head Pro Series underspin jigs, giving you spares when you lose a head to snags or aggressive crappie.
