Blakemore
The Blakemore Road Runner Head Barbed 1/16 jighead is a compact, go-to choice for crappie anglers targeting shallow cover and brush. This 1/16-ounce jighead pairs a sharp Bleeding Bait Hook with an Indiana-style blade that generates flash and vibration—exactly what crappie respond to in spring and fall. The built-in collar barb grips soft plastics securely during casts and retrieves, keeping your chosen trailer rigged and ready without slipping. Whether you're working shallow timber, pier pilings, or dock structures, these heads deliver the weight and action crappie want when they're feeding actively.
Each pack contains four jigheads finished in Chartreuse, a visibility-boosting color that stands out in murky water and low-light conditions. The barb is removable—a practical detail if you want to downsize your plastic or switch to ultra-light trailers without re-rigging. Chartreuse shines particularly well in stained water, making it a reliable choice when you're not sure what the bite will favor. Pair these with your favorite 2- to 3-inch soft plastics, drop to depth, and let the blade do the work.
Built for the grind of crappie fishing—whether you're a weekend tournament angler or a year-round panfish hunter—Road Runner Heads have earned their place in tackle boxes across the country. The 1/16-ounce size keeps things finesse-friendly, casting smoothly on lighter gear and sinking fast enough to reach suspended crappie without requiring heavy equipment. Stock a few of these in your crappie kit and you'll have a proven platform ready for whatever the season brings.
| Weight | 1/16 ounce |
| Color | Chartreuse |
| Blade Style | Indiana |
| Hook Type | Bleeding Bait Hook |
| Barb | Removable collar barb |
| Quantity | 4 per pack |
These jigheads are designed to hold 2- to 3-inch soft plastics. The collar barb grips them securely, and you can remove the barb if you want to switch to smaller or lighter trailers without threading a new head onto your line.
Yes. The 1/16-ounce weight is light enough to cast on entry-level crappie rods and ultralight gear, making them forgiving and fun to fish. The blade does much of the work, so you don't need expert retrieves to trigger strikes.
Chartreuse excels in stained, dingy, or low-light water where visibility matters. It's also a solid choice early and late in the day when light is softer and crappie are less spooked by obvious colors.
At 1/16 ounce, these are optimized for shallow to mid-depth presentations. For significantly deeper water, you may want to step up to a heavier jighead or fish slower to ensure the head reaches suspended crappie.
