Betts Tackle
The Betts Pop N Hot popper fly in chartreuse and black is a lively topwater pattern built for anglers who want active, attention-grabbing motion on every cast. Sized at 10, this fly pairs a tapered bullet-shaped body with splayed tail feathers designed to create maximum disturbance and movement—exactly what you need when you're fishing shallow water and want to trigger aggressive strikes from bass, pike, and other predatory fish.
Betts has engineered this popper with a long, streamlined profile that cuts through the water cleanly on the strip, then generates that characteristic pop and splash when you work it with short, sharp pulls. The combination of the bullet nose and the articulated tail design means this fly delivers genuine action rather than just sitting static on the surface. That wiggle and displacement is what separates a fly that produces from one that just looks good in the box.
The chartreuse and black color scheme gives you visibility in varying light conditions while providing a silhouette that reads clearly to fish. Whether you're fishing gin-clear spring creeks or stained water, this pattern offers enough contrast to be seen and enough action to provoke a take. Built on a quality Mustad hook that's securely cemented in place, the Pop N Hot is rigged to handle the repeated casting and hard strips that topwater fishing demands.
| Brand | Betts Tackle |
| Product Type | Popper Fly |
| Size | 10 |
| Color | Chartreuse/Black |
| Hook | Mustad (cemented) |
This popper works well for bass, pike, and other aggressive surface-feeding fish that respond to topwater commotion. The size 10 makes it suitable for medium-sized prey presentations.
Cast to structure or suspected holding water and use short, sharp strips of the fly line to make the popper's head create noise and splash. Pause between strips to let the fly rest, then repeat. The tail feathers do most of the work to generate action.
Yes. The Mustad hook is firmly cemented in place, designed to withstand the demands of casting and setting the hook on explosive topwater takes.
