Ballistic Advantage
The Ballistic Advantage 8.3" 300 Blackout Modern Series AR-15 barrel delivers a compact, hard-hitting platform built for shooters who want to run subsonic loads, suppressed fire, or both. At just over 8 inches, this barrel is a popular choice for AR pistols and short-barreled rifles (SBRs) in 300 Blackout—a cartridge that shines when you lock a can on the end. The 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel construction paired with a QPQ corrosion-resistant finish means you get a tough, reliable barrel that handles the demands of suppressed shooting and heavy powder charges without breaking the bank.
The BA Hanson profile is Ballistic Advantage's signature taper design, engineered to balance thermal mass with a lighter overall package. The barrel ships with a pinned low-profile gas block already installed, so you're not hunting for the right block or worrying about alignment—just mount it in your upper and go to work. The extended M4 feed ramp extension is nickel-boron coated for smooth feeding and added durability. This is a Modern Series build, meaning it's designed for today's AR builder who wants solid performance without the frills or the price tag of a race gun.
One important note: this barrel is set up for dedicated 300 Blackout uppers and won't work with aftermarket piston kits. If you're building an SBR or pistol, remember that federal law applies—your lower must be registered as an SBR or pistol for legal use with this short barrel. Pair it with a 300 Blackout bolt carrier group, a good barrel extension, and quality ammunition, and you've got a suppressed platform that's genuinely practical for hunting, range work, or home defense.
