Ballistic Advantage
Building an effective short-barreled rifle or pistol platform starts with a quality barrel, and the Ballistic Advantage Performance Series 5.56 CMV 13.9" Barrel with Low Profile Gas Block delivers the precision and durability needed for serious shooters. This 13.9-inch barrel is purpose-built for 5.56 NATO, offering a balanced length for maneuverability without sacrificing velocity in intermediate-distance shooting. Paired with a pinned low-profile gas block, it arrives ready to integrate into your build—no guessing on alignment or loose components.
The barrel itself is machined from 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium steel and finished with a QPQ corrosion-resistant coating, proven to withstand repeated firing cycles and field conditions. The Nickel Boron coated extended M4 feed ramp extension ensures reliable ammunition feeding across a wide range of 5.56 loads. If you're assembling a registered SBR, pistol configuration firearm, or working with a transferable registered receiver, this barrel is a solid foundation for a hard-use AR platform.
Note that Ballistic Advantage's Hanson-profile barrels (which this Performance Series features) are designed to function with direct impingement gas systems and are not compatible with aftermarket piston conversion kits. As always with short barrels and NFA firearms, verify your local and federal legal setup before assembly—barrel length, receiver registration, and configuration all matter.

The extended M4 feed ramp, finished with Nickel Boron coating, improves ammunition feeding reliability across a wide variety of 5.56 loads and helps reduce feed-related malfunctions during rapid fire or in field conditions.
