The Auto Ordnance Thompson M1 semi-auto carbine in .45 ACP puts a piece of American firearms history in your hands—a civilian legal, semi-automatic recreation of the submachine gun that earned legendary status in combat across two world wars and beyond. If you're drawn to classic military-style rifles with genuine character and proven reliability, the Thompson M1 delivers the authentic look, feel, and handling of the original iconic design, complete with that distinctive side bolt action and milled steel construction that defines the breed.
Built with the same craftsmanship philosophy that made the original Thompson a firearm legend, this semi-auto carbine features a solid steel frame and receiver, genuine American walnut furniture, and a blued finish that balances that authentic military aesthetic with modern durability. The 16.5-inch barrel keeps the rifle handy while the fixed blade sight and walnut furniture reinforce that timeless Thompson profile—you'll immediately recognize the silhouette that appeared in newsreels and military archives. At 11.5 pounds, it's a substantial but manageable platform, and the 30-round capacity means you can make extended range sessions or tactical training scenarios genuinely enjoyable without constant reloading.
The .45 ACP round delivers moderate recoil and proven stopping authority at reasonable distances. This carbine works well for shooters who want historical authenticity without sacrificing practical semi-auto function, whether you're building a collection around classic American designs, training with a platform that rewards precision fundamentals, or simply appreciating engineering that's stood the test of time. Thompson aficionados and shooters new to the platform alike find the M1's manual of arms intuitive and the shooting experience both rewarding and genuinely fun.
