Athlon Optics
The Athlon Optics Talos 3-12x40mm shotgun scope is purpose-built for rifled and sabot slugs in 12 and 20 gauge shotguns, bringing accuracy and extended range to your slug gun at distances where it matters. Unlike general-purpose rifle scopes, this optic is engineered specifically for shotgun ballistics and handling—it features extra-long eye relief to keep your face at a safe, comfortable distance from the scope during recoil, and a second focal plane illuminated BDC 250 reticle calibrated for shotgun ammunition performance.
Built on an aircraft-grade aluminum tube and fully purged with nitrogen, the Talos is sealed against weather and moisture—essential when you're hunting in wet conditions or from a blind. The illuminated reticle lets you acquire targets in low-light dawn and dusk moments when slugs are most effective, while the fully multi-coated lens glass maximizes light transmission. Capped turrets keep your elevation and windage dial settings protected from accidental adjustment, and the side parallax adjustment ensures sharp focus at your hunting distances.
At 18.8 ounces and mounted to a slug gun, the Talos keeps weight and balance manageable. The 3-12x magnification range gives you bright, wide-field shooting at lower power when targets are close, then enough magnification to place slugs precisely at longer ranges. Whether you're hunting deer over cut fields or from a blind, or tuning your slug gun at the range, this scope delivers the optical precision shotgun hunters expect.

The Talos 3-12x40mm is built specifically for 12 and 20 gauge shotguns using rifled slugs and sabot slugs. The illuminated BDC 250 reticle is calibrated for the ballistics of these ammunition types in those gauges.
Shotguns generate significant recoil, and the longer 5-inch eye relief keeps your face at a safer, more comfortable distance from the scope during firing. This is especially important for gauge shotguns where recoil is more pronounced than in rifles.
Yes. The reticle is illuminated, which allows you to see it clearly in dawn and dusk conditions—the times when slug hunting is often most productive.
The scope features side parallax adjustment to eliminate parallax error. The parallax is fixed at 100 yards, which is a typical hunting range for shotgun slugs, and the side adjustment dial lets you fine-tune for your specific shooting distance.
