Rock Island Armory
The Rock Island Armory Rock Ultra is a compact 1911-style pistol built on proven 70-series design and engineered for shooters who need reliable stopping power in a carry-friendly package. Chambered in .45 ACP with a 3.5-inch barrel, this subcompact delivers the accuracy and ergonomics of a full-size 1911 in a frame sized for concealed carry, duty rigs, or backup roles. Whether you're a competitive shooter, defensive-minded carrier, or someone who simply appreciates a well-made American 1911, the Rock Ultra combines traditional design with modern upgrades.
The Rock Ultra's snag-free profile and low-profile adjustable sights support fast target acquisition without catching on clothing during the draw. The fiber-optic front sight pairs with an LPA MPS1-type adjustable rear sight for usable accuracy at realistic defensive distances. The skeletonized hammer and trigger reduce weight and enable faster lock time, while the adjustable over-travel stop lets you tune the trigger to your preference—and Rock Island delivers a factory pull of 4 to 6 pounds right out of the box. Ambidextrous safety levers make this pistol equally at home for left- or right-handed shooters.
Build quality reflects Rock Island's reputation: a tough parkerized matte finish resists corrosion, and the full-length guide rod ensures consistent cycling and durability. Tactical G10 grips offer a secure purchase in wet conditions and won't slip under sustained fire. At 2.35 pounds unloaded and 7.13 inches overall length, the Rock Ultra balances shootability with genuine concealability—narrow enough to tuck inside the waistband yet substantial enough to run reliably through extended training or duty use.
