The Rock Island Armory Pro Match Ultra is a 45 ACP competition pistol built for shooters who want match-grade accuracy and reliability without paying custom-gunsmith prices. Assembled by RIA's master gunsmiths in their Medallion shop, this 5-inch 1911 is designed to perform right out of the box for competitive shooting, steel challenge, or serious target work. The parkerized finish and checkered wood grips give it a no-nonsense, duty-ready appearance that's earned trust in competition circles for decades.

What sets the Pro Match Ultra apart is its thoughtful trigger system and sight setup. The factory trigger breaks between 4 and 6 pounds—adjustable to your preference—with an adjustable overtravel stop so you can dial in the exact reset feel you want. That level of control matters when you're chasing tight groups. Up front, a fiber-optic sight catches light reliably for fast target acquisition, while the adjustable LPA rear sight lets you dial elevation and windage precisely. Both are dovetail-mounted for solid zero retention.

At 8 rounds of 45 ACP capacity, this is a full-sized carry gun or match gun with heft you can count on. The 2.49-pound unloaded weight is honest 1911 mass—not light, but it translates to manageable recoil and a stable platform for follow-up shots. The skeletonized hammer keeps things crisp without sacrificing durability. Whether you're stepping up to competition, upgrading from a stock Government Model, or looking for a purpose-built 45 for the range, this is a no-compromise choice from a builder known for value.
