APEX TACTICAL SPECIALTIES
The Apex Tactical Specialties S&W Shield 45 Duty/Carry Kit transforms one of the most popular compact carry pistols with a professionally engineered trigger upgrade. If you run an M&P Shield 45 for duty, competition, or everyday carry and want a trigger that breaks cleaner and resets faster without compromising safety, this kit delivers measurable improvements right out of the box. Apex has engineered the components to lighten trigger pull by approximately 2 lbs compared to factory, while keeping the weight within the proven safe range for reliable function in a service pistol.
What makes this kit stand out is the attention to reset—Apex's design reduces over-travel and delivers a shorter, faster, and more tactilely detectable reset. That means less dead space between trigger breaks and quicker follow-up shots. The kit includes precision-machined components engineered to work together as a system: a new sear, striker block spring, sear spring, trigger return spring, and carry spring set. You also get the Talon Tactical tool and an installation slave pin to make the process smoother. Installation is DIY-friendly, though it requires a bit more attention than a true drop-in—take your time, follow Apex's guidance, and you'll have a noticeably better-breaking trigger. Actual pull-weight reduction varies slightly gun-to-gun, which is normal given manufacturing tolerances in individual firearms.
The kit works with all S&W M&P Shield 45 pistols and plays well with your factory trigger, or you can pair it with Apex's Action Enhancement Trigger (sold separately) for even greater refinement. Whether you're running this pistol in a duty holster, competition match, or bedside carry, a crisp, predictable trigger matters—and this kit gets you there without the guesswork.
