Zastava Arms
The Zastava Arms ZPAP85 5.56 NATO rifle is a semi-automatic AK-pattern platform built for shooters who want proven reliability in a modern, configurable package. This 16-inch rifle splits the difference between handling and velocity: short enough for practical shooting and close-quarters work, long enough to make the most of 5.56 ballistics. The FDE Cerakote finish delivers both corrosion resistance and a clean look that pairs well with modern accessories. Whether you're building a precision trainer, a defensive carbine, or a dependable range gun, the ZPAP85 gives you a solid foundation and room to grow.
The receiver architecture is time-tested: a stamped steel 1.5mm construction with a bulged trunnion, paired with a chrome-lined, cold hammer-forged barrel for longevity and consistent performance. You get a hinged top cover for easy cleaning and optic mounting, bolt hold-open capability on the safety selector, and dual-aperture front post sights in Krinkov profile—a nod to AK tradition without sacrificing modern versatility. The hard nickel-molly steel bolt carrier handles full-power rounds without hesitation.
Ergonomics come straight out of the box: a Magpul CTR adjustable stock gives you length-of-pull and cheek-weld choices, while the included Magpul vertical grip and pistol grip ensure a secure, repeatable grip. The quad-rail handguard opens up mounting options for lights, lasers, or additional grips. A top Picatinny rail accommodates optics or iron backup. The 30+1 round capacity keeps you in the fight, and the pinned, welded barrel extension meets all legal requirements. At 8.3 pounds, it's nimble without feeling underdone.
This is a rifle for people who understand that AK-pattern reliability and modern ergonomics aren't mutually exclusive—and who aren't interested in paying premium prices for the privilege.

Yes. This rifle is configured as a semi-automatic 5.56 NATO rifle with a pinned and welded 16-inch barrel extension, meeting all federal rifle requirements. However, state and local firearms laws vary; we recommend verifying compliance in your jurisdiction before purchase.
The ZPAP85 ships with the rifle complete with Magpul CTR stock, Magpul pistol grip, Magpul RVG vertical grip, quad-rail handguard, and a buffer tube adaptor. Iron sights are factory-installed.
The rifle uses an AK-pattern platform, not AR-15 pattern, so most AR-specific components won't be compatible. However, the quad-rail handguard and Picatinny rails accept most modern tactical accessories designed for Picatinny mounting. The Magpul grips and stock are AK-compatible by design.
