Yum Baits
The Yum Ned Dinger is a compact soft-plastic lure designed for the increasingly popular Ned rig approach to bass fishing. At 3 inches, this lure sits right in the sweet spot for targeting both largemouth and smallmouth in situations where finicky fish demand a smaller, more subtle presentation. The 8-count pack gives you enough baits to work through a solid day on the water without constantly re-rigging. Watermelon Red Flake is a proven pattern that balances visibility with natural coloring, making it effective across a range of light conditions and water clarity.
What sets the Ned Dinger apart is its buoyant tail design—an air pocket engineered into the tail section gives the lure a slow, natural fall and slightly elevated posture in the water column. This floating characteristic keeps the bait off the bottom during pauses and retrieves, creating a more lifelike presentation than a lure that dead-sticks on the deck. The body profile is stockier than some finesse soft plastics, which can be an advantage when you need a bit more mass to register on structure or hold position against current.
The plastic formula is notably soft, which translates to better action and a more enticing feel in a bass's mouth—a detail that matters when you're targeting cautious fish. Whether you're working a Ned rig in shallow cover, around docks, or on drop-offs, this bait rewards patience and precision. It's a go-to choice for anglers who've learned that downsizing and slowing down often triggers bites when standard-size lures fall flat.
| Length | 3 inches |
| Count per Pack | 8 |
| Color | Watermelon Red Flake |
| Bait Type | Ned Rig Soft Plastic |
| Tail Feature | Floating (air pocket) |
A Ned rig pairs a small soft plastic on a lightweight jighead, typically in the 1/16 to 1/4 ounce range. It's a finesse technique that excels when bass are inactive or when you're fishing clear water or light cover. The Ned Dinger's compact size and floating tail are built specifically for this approach, making it a natural match for Ned-rig anglers.
Yes. The 3-inch size and realistic profile appeal to both species, especially in situations where standard-size lures aren't triggering bites. It's equally at home in largemouth habitat and smallmouth waters.
This pack contains 8 soft-plastic baits, giving you a solid supply for multiple outings without needing to rotate packs constantly.
The air pocket in the tail keeps the bait slightly elevated during the fall and when paused, creating a more natural, vertical presentation that mimics smaller baitfish. This subtle action often triggers bites from wary fish that ignore baits that sit flat on the bottom.
