Yankee Hill Machine
The Yankee Hill Machine Nielsen Piston in .578"-28 thread is a precision suppressor accessory engineered for .45 caliber firearms and compatible YHM suppressor systems. If you're running a suppressor on a .45 ACP pistol or rifle and want to dial out point-of-impact shift, this piston gives you real mechanical control. Built from heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel, it resists corrosion and handles the thermal cycles of centerfire shooting without degradation—whether you're shooting suppressed at the range, in the field, or testing load development.
The Nielsen piston design works with YHM's booster housing (YHM-2055) and integrates with many popular pistol suppressors on the market. The 10 adjustment points let you fine-tune the piston's position to eliminate or minimize the vertical or horizontal shift that can occur when you add a suppressor to your barrel. That's real utility: instead of accepting a poi shift as a cost of suppressed shooting, you get the tool to correct it. At 1.40 oz, it adds minimal weight to your suppressor stack.
Note that this piston is not compatible with the original Sidewinder, but it will work with Sidewinder M2 suppressors if that's part of your kit. Threading in .578"-28 is the standard for many .45 platforms, so verify your barrel or suppressor's muzzle thread before ordering.
| Brand | Yankee Hill Machine Co |
| Thread Pattern | .578"-28 |
| Caliber | .45 |
| Material | Heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel |
| Weight | 1.40 oz |
| Adjustment Points | 10 |
This piston works with YHM's booster housing YHM-2055 and many popular pistol suppressors. It is compatible with Sidewinder M2 suppressors but not the original Sidewinder. Verify your suppressor's piston mounting system before ordering.
The 10 adjustment points allow you to position the piston to zero any point-of-impact shift that occurs when the suppressor is installed. This helps maintain your zero and improves accuracy when shooting suppressed.
Yes—the .578"-28 thread is common on .45 ACP platforms. Confirm your barrel or suppressor has .578"-28 threading before purchase.
The piston is constructed from heat-treated 17-4 stainless steel, which resists corrosion and withstands thermal cycling from suppressed centerfire shooting.
