XS Sights
If you carry a Taurus 856 or 605 revolver for self-defense, solid sight picture under stress—especially in low light—can be the difference that matters. The XS Sights Standard Dot front night sight for Taurus 856 and 605 revolvers pairs tritium illumination with a convex, photoluminescent orange glow dot designed to stay visible whether you're shooting at the range in daylight or responding to a threat in the dark. The larger dot profile soaks up ambient light during the day and glows distinctly when ambient light fades, giving you a sight picture you can actually find fast.
Installation is straightforward: the sight comes pre-drilled to match your factory pinned front sight, so swap-out and zeroing are tasks you can handle at home with basic tools. No gunsmithing, no mail-away. The orange dot sits at that sweet spot between high-visibility and not being too much in bright sun—it's bright enough to work for shooters with aging eyes or less-than-perfect vision, but not so aggressive it washes out in daylight. XS Sights manufactures these in Fort Worth, so you're backing American production.
The convex shape of the glow dot isn't just for show: extra surface area means more light absorption during the day, which translates to a stronger charge when the sun goes down. It's a small detail, but on a defensive revolver where reliability and speed matter, every edge counts. Whether you're drilling at the range or counting on your gun to perform when it counts, this upgrade puts a real, functional sight picture in your hands.

Yes, this sight is designed as a direct replacement for the factory pinned front sight on both the Taurus 856 and Taurus 605 revolver models. The sight comes pre-drilled to match the factory pin location.
Yes. The sight is pre-drilled for the factory retention pin, so installation is a straightforward at-home task. You'll need basic tools and a little familiarity with your revolver, but no gunsmithing is required.
During daylight and in ambient light, the photoluminescent orange dot absorbs that light. In low-light conditions or darkness, the tritium lamp inside the sight provides automatic illumination, while the charged glow dot adds visible glow. The convex shape maximizes light absorption during the day, which intensifies the charge at night.
The package includes the XS Sights Standard Dot front night sight, pre-drilled and ready to install with your factory retention pin.
