Winchester
The Winchester SXP Turkey 20-gauge pump-action shotgun brings a proven, no-nonsense platform to spring and fall turkey hunting. Built on Winchester's battle-tested SXP action, this 24-inch barreled 20ga delivers the power of a 3-inch chamber in a lighter, faster-handling package than a 12-gauge—ideal for hunters who value maneuverability through thick cover and easier follow-up shots. At 6 lbs 4 oz, it won't wear you down during a long day on the roost, yet the synthetic stock and ergonomic controls are built for gloved hands and reliable operation in nasty weather.
Turkey hunting demands precision and speed. The Winchester SXP Turkey comes threaded with an Invector-Plus Extra-Full choke tube engineered for tight, dense patterns at distance—exactly what you need to anchor a bird cleanly. Back-bored technology optimizes shot placement by producing even, consistent patterns across the board. TruGlo fiber-optic adjustable sights give you a fast, natural sight picture from first light to sunset, and the alloy receiver is drilled and tapped if you ever want to mount glass instead. The hard chrome-plated chamber and bore resist corrosion from powder residue and moisture, while black chrome protection on the bolt and moving parts outlasts traditional bluing.
Handling matters when you're calling birds in close. The rotary bolt system with four massive lugs locks the receiver solid for reliable cycling of 20-gauge loads, and the drop-out trigger group makes field cleaning straightforward. A crossbolt safety operates smoothly even in heavy gloves. Recoil management comes courtesy of Inflex technology in the pad, which directs felt kick downward and away from your cheek—reducing flinch and fatigue over a day of shooting. The synthetic stock's textured gripping surfaces keep the gun secure in your hands whether you're wet, cold, or moving fast through the brush.
Pump shotguns don't need explaining, and the SXP Turkey builds on decades of Winchester reliability. Simple, durable, and purpose-built for the job.

Absolutely. Pump shotguns are straightforward and forgiving—point, shoot, work the action. The SXP is reliable and easy to clean, with controls that don't require special training. The 20-gauge recoil is manageable, and the weight won't fatigue a newer shooter on a long hunt. If you're new to turkey hunting, this is a solid, uncomplicated choice.
Yes. The alloy receiver is drilled and tapped for scope base installation, so you can mount optics if you prefer glass to the included TruGlo sights. Many turkey hunters stick with the fiber-optic open sights, but the option is there.
The Winchester SXP Turkey ships with an Invector-Plus Extra-Full choke tube already threaded in the barrel. No additional chokes are included in the base package.
The SXP Turkey is chambered for 3-inch shells. While shorter shells may chamber and fire, Winchester designs this gun around 3-inch ammunition. For consistent performance and reliability, use ammo that matches the chamber length.
