Winchester
The Winchester XPR Sporter in 6.5 PRC is a modern bolt-action hunting rifle built for serious long-range accuracy without unnecessary bulk or price tag. The 22-inch barrel strikes a practical balance—short enough for hunting through brush and easy vehicle transport, long enough to deliver consistent velocity in a fast, efficient cartridge. A Grade I walnut stock with crisp checkering and a flattened fore-end give it classic Winchester character while providing real stability off a bench or pack rest. This is a rifle that looks and feels like it means business.
The heart of the XPR is its M.O.A. trigger system: zero take-up, zero creep, zero overtravel. That clean, predictable break translates directly to tighter groups whether you're sighting in or taking a 400-yard shot. The bolt itself wears nickel-teflon plating for slick, corrosion-resistant operation in wet or salt-air hunts. A top-mounted cocking indicator and two-position thumb safety let you verify your safety status instantly, by sight or touch—no guessing in the field. The bolt unlock button frees you to eject a round even with the safety on, a small detail that pays off when you need to clear the chamber fast.
Winchester didn't cut corners on the barrel or receiver. The free-floated steel barrel is button-rifled, stress-relieved, and precisely headspaced; the receiver is machined from solid steel stock and through-hardened for strength and repeatability. A recessed target crown protects the muzzle from damage. A steel recoil lug prevents receiver twist under recoil, keeping shot-to-shot consistency rock-solid. The Inflex recoil pad works with the rifle's geometry to push energy down and away from your face, reducing felt recoil so follow-up shots stay on target. Perma-Coat matte black metal surfaces handle abuse, hide glare, and resist rust. The detachable polymer box magazine is single-stack design—reliable, durable, and practical for reloading in the field.
This is Winchester's answer to hunters and long-range shooters who want proven accuracy and reliability in a rifle that works. The 6.5 PRC cartridge is modern, efficient, and popular for a reason—excellent ballistics, manageable recoil, and brass and factory ammo readily available. Whether you're chasing elk across high country or dialing in for precision at distance, the XPR Sporter delivers.
