Winchester
The Winchester SXP Trap Compact is a 20-gauge pump-action shotgun built specifically for young shooters and smaller-framed competitors stepping into organized clay shooting. At 13 inches of length of pull, this shotgun is dimensioned for shooters who don't fit comfortably into standard adult stock dimensions—a critical detail for developing proper form and reducing fatigue during long trap rounds. The SXP Trap Compact delivers the speed and reliability of Winchester's proven inertia-driven action with features tailored to the trapshooting discipline: a high-profile trap-style Monte Carlo comb, 5/16-inch trap rib, and a purposeful sight plane designed to keep your eye on rising and crossing targets.
Built for the grind of competitive clay work, this 20-gauge features back-bored technology to optimize shot pattern density, even at the 27-yard line standard in trap. The hard chrome-plated chamber and bore resist corrosion and wear through countless rounds, while black chrome protection on the bolt and carrier extends durability beyond traditional bluing. Winchester's INFLEX recoil pad is engineered to direct felt recoil away from your cheek, reducing flinch and shoulder fatigue—valuable when you're chasing a 100-straight target goal. A TRUGLO fiber-optic front sight pairs with an ivory mid-bead for a crisp, high-contrast sight picture in varying light conditions.
Handling is purposeful: the satin-finished stock and checkered forearm provide a secure grip when the action heats up, while the crossbolt safety is intuitive and positive. The removable 3-shot adapter with speed-plug system takes seconds to change without tools, and a drop-out trigger group makes field cleaning straightforward. Chamber is 3-inch, barrel is 30 inches, and the NVECTOR-Plus choke tube system delivers consistent patterns across your load selection.

The shotgun uses Winchester's NVECTOR-Plus choke tube system, allowing you to swap chokes to match your load selection and shooting conditions. It's chambered in 3-inch, 20-gauge and will accept 2.75-inch and 3-inch shells. The magazine holds 4 rounds of 2.75-inch ammunition.
Yes. The 20-gauge is a legitimate and growing division in trap, and this model is specifically configured for competitive trap with back-bored technology, a trap-style rib, and sight plane geometry designed for the discipline. The 30-inch barrel and optimized choke system support consistent patterns at trapshooting distances.
Winchester's INFLEX recoil pad is engineered to direct felt recoil downward and away from your cheek and shoulder. This design reduces flinch and the cumulative fatigue that builds over 100-target trap rounds, helping you stay focused and maintain form late in a competition.
