Winchester
The Winchester Model 70 Extreme in .308 Winchester with a 22-inch barrel is a purpose-built rifle for hunters who demand a firearm that looks as good as it performs in tough conditions. This modern take on Winchester's legendary Model 70 action combines classic controlled-feed reliability with contemporary materials and finishes designed to withstand harsh weather and hard use. Whether you're glassing ridges in unpredictable weather or taking a long shot in demanding terrain, the Model 70 Extreme delivers the accuracy and dependability serious hunters expect from one of America's most respected bolt-action platforms.
The rifle's aesthetic starts with a tungsten Cerakote finish on both receiver and barrel—a durable, weatherproof coating that resists corrosion and gives the gun a modern, purposeful look. The synthetic stock features a Bell and Carlson design with a sculpted cheekpiece and TrueTimber VSX camouflage pattern, keeping weight down while providing a solid, repeatable sight picture. A Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad helps manage the .308's moderate recoil, making the rifle comfortable to shoot all day on the range or during a multi-day hunt. Sling swivel studs are ready for your preferred carry system.
What sets the Model 70 apart is its action. The pre-'64 style controlled round feed with claw extractor ensures smooth, reliable feeding and ejection across a wide range of ammunition. The free-floating barrel supports inherent accuracy, while the M.O.A. trigger offers a crisp, predictable break. A jeweled bolt body and knurled bolt handle add both visual refinement and improved manipulation in gloved conditions. The three-position safety is intuitive, the hinged floorplate allows quick loading, and the recessed target crown protects the muzzle from impact damage.
In .308 Winchester, this rifle is at home on everything from whitetail to elk, and the 22-inch barrel strikes a balance between velocity and handling in tight country. Built for real-world hunting—not showroom compromises—the Model 70 Extreme is as comfortable in a truck rack as it is on your shoulder when it matters most.
