The Wilson Combat AR-15 Tactical Trigger Group is a 4 lb single-stage drop-in trigger designed for shooters who want a crisp, predictable break without the fuss of fine-tuning or adjustment. Built from the ground up for precision and reliability, this trigger module installs in less than a minute—no tools required and no need to remove your selector. It's the kind of upgrade that separates a decent shooter's AR from a tack-driver, whether you're running competition loads or mil-spec surplus ammo.

Wilson Combat engineered the Tactical Trigger Unit (TTU) to be completely self-contained, with all components precision CNC machined or EDM cut from solid bar stock. The hammer, trigger, and disconnector are forged from H13 steel and heat-treated for maximum durability, then pivot on hardened steel bushings so your receiver's pin holes stay pristine. There are no adjustment screws to come loose, no loose parts to chase downrange—everything is built to last.

Safety is baked in. The 1911-style half-cock notch meets or exceeds military drop-safety specifications, giving you confidence whether you're holstering fast or handing off a rifle. The hammer geometry is optimized to reliably ignite everything from standard factory ammo to older military and surplus rounds. The positive trigger reset means your follow-up shots stay on target, and the reduced trigger reset keeps your hand in the fight.

Compatibility is straightforward for most shooters: the TTU works in any standard USGI-pattern AR lower with .154" trigger pins, regardless of caliber—including 7.62/.308 platforms. Some rifles require different versions (check if you own a piston-driven platform or certain .22 LR conversions), and a few older Colt commercial builds use non-standard pin sizes, so verify your lower before ordering.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this trigger fit my AR-15 lower receiver?

The Wilson Combat TTU works in any standard USGI-pattern AR lower with .154" trigger pins, regardless of caliber—including 7.62/.308 builds. It is not compatible with certain Colt commercial models made between 1991–2009 (which use .169" pins), Colt rifles with pinned-in sear blocks, or the Bushmaster ACR. Piston-driven platforms like the HK MR556 require the TTU 3G or two-stage model. If you own an S&W MP-10 .308, the ambidextrous bolt catch must be removed first. Verify your lower's pin size and design before ordering.

Can I install this without a gunsmith or special tools?

Yes. The TTU is a true drop-in trigger that installs in less than one minute with no tools and no need to remove your selector lever. It's engineered for the end user to install reliably every time.

What makes this trigger safer than a standard AR trigger?

The 1911-style half-cock notch integrated into the hammer design allows the TTU to meet or exceed military specifications for drop safety. This feature, combined with the precision-engineered sear engagement, provides confidence in secure firing pin retention and controlled hammer function.

Will this work with .22 LR AR conversions?

Yes, but Wilson Combat recommends using high or hyper-velocity ammunition for best reliability with .22 LR conversions and complete .22 LR caliber AR-pattern rifles when using the standard single-stage TTU.
