Wilson Combat
The Wilson Combat Q-Comp 11/16-24 is a hybrid muzzle brake and compensator engineered to give AR shooters real recoil control without the excessive side-blast and concussion that plague standard devices. Designed specifically for large-caliber AR platforms—including Wilson Combat SOCOM rifles and compatible aftermarket builds—this 11/16-24 threaded brake uses a slotted expansion chamber to manage vertical and rearward recoil while keeping muzzle flash minimal across all calibers it handles. If you're running a modern AR in a bigger bore and want faster follow-up shots without punishing yourself or your neighbors, this is the brake built for that job.
The 11/16-24 version features a .485" internal bore diameter, which means it's sized for larger cartridges than the standard 1/2-28 or 5/8-24 options. Wilson Combat's slotted design avoids the pronged or tined geometry that can break or snag during handling and maintenance—just clean lines, proven physics, and durability. The body is forged from alloy steel and treated with Melonite QPQ coating to resist corrosion and handle harsh conditions, whether you're shooting suppressed or unsuppressed, in wet climates or dry ranges.
Installation is straightforward: thread it on and use the included crush washer to time it correctly. No shim kits, no guesswork. This brake delivers the recoil reduction and control you need for precision shooting, fast splits, or tactical applications where staying on target matters. It's a purpose-built component from a brand that understands AR platform engineering.
| Thread Pitch | 11/16-24 TPI |
| Internal Bore Diameter | .485" |
| Material | Alloy Steel with Melonite QPQ Coating |
| Finish | Black |
| Compatible Platform | Wilson Combat SOCOM rifles, select large-caliber aftermarket AR builds |
| Included Accessories | Crush Washer |
This version is threaded for Wilson Combat SOCOM rifles and some other large-caliber aftermarket AR platforms that use 11/16-24 thread pitch. If you're unsure whether your rifle has the correct threads, verify the thread pitch and size before ordering.
Yes. The brake includes a crush washer, which is used to time it correctly during installation. You don't need to source a separate shim kit.
Wilson Combat's slotted design produces almost zero muzzle flash while still delivering solid vertical and rearward recoil reduction across all calibers the bore diameter supports.
Yes, the Q-Comp can be used on both suppressed and unsuppressed rifles. The Melonite QPQ coating provides corrosion resistance for either application.
