The Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Beavertail Grip Safety in stainless finish is a precision-machined upgrade for 1911 shooters who demand both comfort and control. Built on Wilson's proven High Ride design, this grip safety features a generously proportioned beavertail that sits high on your hand, letting you maintain a strong, straight grip without sacrificing protection from hammer bite. Machined from high-grade steel barstock, it's engineered for the kind of fit and reliable operation that separates a quality 1911 from a great one.

The wide, upswept beavertail does real work during shooting. It distributes recoil across a larger surface area of your hand, which means less fatigue and faster, more controlled follow-up shots—whether you're running drills at the range or training for defensive scenarios. The raised palm pad includes a pronounced ridge that gives you positive tactile feedback every time you grip the pistol, ensuring consistent hand placement and complete safety disengagement from draw to target acquisition.

Fit and finish matter on a 1911, and Wilson Combat doesn't cut corners. All exposed edges are radiused smooth to prevent snagging on clothing or holsters, and the stainless natural finish resists corrosion without sacrificing that classic 1911 look. The compound radius profile blends seamlessly into your frame for a polished, integrated appearance. Note that installation requires frame alteration by a qualified gunsmith, so plan accordingly if you're adding this to your build or upgrade.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this grip safety fit my 1911?

The Wilson Combat Bullet Proof Beavertail is designed for 1911-platform pistols. Because installation requires frame alteration, we recommend having the work performed by a qualified gunsmith to ensure proper fit and function.

What's the difference between High Ride and standard beavertail designs?

The High Ride design positions the beavertail higher on your hand, allowing you to maintain a higher, straighter grip while still protecting against hammer bite. This geometry improves control and speeds up target acquisition compared to lower-riding designs.

Does the stainless finish require special maintenance?

The stainless natural finish resists corrosion well, though like all stainless steel, it benefits from occasional cleaning and light oil to maintain appearance and prevent surface oxidation over time.

What does the raised palm pad do?

The raised pad with pronounced ridge provides positive tactile feedback, helping you place your hand consistently every time you draw. This consistency also ensures complete and reliable safety disengagement during operation.
