The Wheeler Fat Stix Limiter In-lb Precision Torque Limiting Tool is a gunsmith-grade fastener wrench designed for hunters, shooters, and armorers who need to install scope rings, bases, and action screws at exact specifications. Unlike adjustable torque wrenches that require constant monitoring, the Fat Stix delivers preset, click-free operation—tighten until it stops, and you know the fastener is properly seated without risk of stripping threads or cracking components. This is the tool that separates confident builds from guesswork.

The set includes twelve preset torque limiters covering 10 through 65 inch-pounds, the full range for most common gunsmithing tasks. Each limiter is accurate to within ±5%, so whether you're setting a picatinny rail at 20 in-lb or a receiver ring at 40, you're hitting the mark. The T-handle design puts minimal fatigue on your hand during installation, and the spin collar lets you apply steady pressure without fighting feedback. It's built to last—no batteries, no calibration drift, just reliable mechanical stops that work year after year.

The kit bundles twelve popular bit sizes, a ½" socket, and a ¼" drive extension, covering everything from tiny grip screws to larger action fasteners. Everything packs into a soft carry case, so your torque limiter set stays organized in the safe, the truck, or the reloading bench. For the shooter or gunsmith who refuses to guess on fastener tension, the Wheeler Fat Stix delivers precision that sticks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What fasteners can I use the Fat Stix on—scope rings, bases, and receiver work?

Yes. The preset limiters from 10 to 65 in-lb cover standard scope mounting tasks and common action fasteners. Always verify your firearm manufacturer's torque spec before assembly.

How do I know when the torque limiter has done its job?

The limiter will stop turning and resist further pressure once the fastener reaches the preset in-lb value. This mechanical stop signals that the fastener is properly seated—no guessing, no dial reading.

Does the kit come with bits for small screws and large fasteners?

The set includes twelve popular bit sizes plus a ½" socket and ¼" drive extension, covering a wide range of scope mounting, base, and action fasteners. Check the specific fastener head shape on your components to confirm compatibility.

Is this tool suitable for both gunsmiths and home shooters?

Yes. The preset design and ergonomic T-handle make it accessible for anyone maintaining firearms or building precision rigs. Professional gunsmiths and dedicated home armorers both rely on preset torque limiters for consistent, repeatable results.
