The Wheeler 89-Piece Professional Gunsmith Screwdriver Set is built on a simple but powerful idea: Wheeler's engineers measured the fasteners on over one hundred modern and antique firearms to engineer a driver set that actually fits the guns you work on. Whether you're maintaining a Browning Superposed, tuning a Remington 700, servicing a Smith & Wesson revolver, or restoring a Colt single action, this set includes the right bit for the job. It's the kind of comprehensive, purpose-built toolkit that saves you from the frustration of generic sets that leave you one size short of the mark.

The set pairs hollow-ground flat bits—precision-cut to seat flush in screw slots without rocking—with both short and extended driver shafts so you can reach fasteners in tight action wells and deep receiver pockets. Each handle is textured rubber, shaped for grip and comfort during the methodical work that gunsmithing demands. Black phosphate coating on the bits resists rust, a practical detail that matters in a tool you'll reach for year after year.

Whether you're a professional gunsmith, an armorer, or a serious hobbyist who maintains your own rifles and handguns, this set eliminates the false economy of buying screwdriver bits piecemeal or reaching for a household set that doesn't belong near a firearm. It's a legitimate one-time investment in the right tools.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this set fit the screws on my rifle or handgun?

Wheeler designed this set by measuring fasteners on over one hundred modern and antique firearms, including Browning, Remington, Smith & Wesson, and Colt models. The 89-piece count ensures you'll have the right bit for most standard firearm screws, but compatibility ultimately depends on your specific gun—if you have an unusual or specialized firearm, verify with the manufacturer.

What's the difference between the short and extended drivers?

Short drivers provide better control and leverage in open areas, while extended drivers let you reach fasteners in deep recesses—like screws in the action well or the bottom of a receiver—where a short handle won't fit.

Why do hollow-ground bits matter for firearms?

Hollow-ground bits seat flush in the screw slot without rocking, which prevents the bit from cam-ming out and damaging the screw head or the gun's finish. This precision fit is especially important on quality firearms where cosmetics and function both count.

Is this set suitable for professional gunsmithing work?

Yes—Wheeler engineered it specifically for professional gunsmiths, and the comprehensive 89-piece count, precision hollow-ground bits, and dual-length drivers support the demands of detailed firearms maintenance and repair.
