Weaver
The Weaver Side-Mount Scope Base #2 Gloss Finish is a sub-base mount that attaches your scope to the side of the receiver, giving you clearance advantages that matter on rifles with prominent bolt handles or tight ejection ports. This design keeps your optic out of the way of aggressive bolt throws and makes loading and unloading rounds faster and more comfortable—a real benefit when you're working the action repeatedly at the range or in the field. The gloss finish resists corrosion while maintaining that classic Weaver look.
Side-mount bases solve a specific problem: some rifles—particularly older military actions, lever guns, and vintage sporters—don't accommodate conventional top-mounted rings without creating ergonomic headaches or limiting access to the action. The #2 base is engineered to fit a specific range of time-tested rifle actions, from H&R and Mossberg to Remington, Savage, Winchester, Stevens, and other popular models. If your rifle action is on that compatibility list, this base locks in the correct spacing and geometry for a stable, reliable sight picture.
This is a mounting base only—you'll need Weaver side-mount rings to complete the setup. The base itself handles the receiver interface, while the rings clamp your scope. It's a straightforward mechanical solution that's been proven across generations of American hunting and shooting rifles. Check your rifle's action against the compatibility list to confirm the #2 is your fit.

Cross-reference your rifle action against this list.
This base requires Weaver side-mount rings to complete your mounting system. The base and rings work together as a matched set.
Side mounting keeps your scope away from the bolt handle and ejection port, eliminating interference with the action and making loading, ejecting, and working the rifle much more comfortable. It's the right choice for rifles where a conventional top mount would create ergonomic problems.
This is the base only. You will need to purchase compatible Weaver side-mount rings separately to complete your scope mounting system.
