Weaver
The Weaver #85 Glossy Top Mount Base is a lightweight aluminum scope base designed to give your rifle a solid, precision mounting foundation. Built for shooters who demand reliable scope attachment without unnecessary weight, this base fits a broad range of rifle platforms—from modern tactical builds to classic hunting rifles—as well as shotguns and long-range handguns. The glossy finish resists corrosion while maintaining a professional appearance in the field or at the range.
Like all Weaver bases, the #85 is engineered to exacting standards for repeatable, rock-solid scope mounting. Whether you're setting up a new rifle or upgrading an existing one, this base delivers the kind of no-nonsense performance that lets you focus on accuracy, not equipment reliability. Because scope mounting is foundational—literally—Weaver's proven design means your optic stays put, shot after shot.
Keep in mind that bases are typically sold individually; most rifle setups require both a front and rear base. Check the product fit guide to confirm the #85 is the correct base for your specific rifle model, as Weaver offers bases across numerous models and configurations to match different receiver types and mounting patterns.
The #85 is compatible with a broad range of rifle platforms, including modern and vintage models, shotguns, and long-range handguns. Check our fit guide or contact us with your specific rifle make and model to confirm compatibility before ordering.
Most rifle scope setups require both a front and rear base. The #85 is sold individually, so you'll typically order one front and one rear base. Some specific rifle models may have one-piece base options available; check your model's compatibility page.
Some rifles accept one-piece bases (a single unit spanning both receiver points), while others use separate front and rear bases. The availability depends on your specific rifle platform. Our product pages identify whether your model uses a one-piece or two-piece configuration.
Yes. The glossy aluminum finish is designed to resist corrosion from weather and regular use, holding up reliably in hunting and range conditions. Like any aluminum component, occasional cleaning and a light coat of oil during storage extends its life.
