The Weatherby Vanguard Outfitter in 7mm Rem Mag is a hard-use mountain rifle built on five decades of proven action design. This isn't a delicate paper-puncher—it's a dedicated hunting rifle engineered for the grind of high-country terrain, steep pack-outs, and the weather swings that come with serious elevation. If you're chasing elk or mule deer where the country is big and unforgiving, the Outfitter delivers the accuracy and durability you need without flinching.

At the heart of this rifle sits Weatherby's time-tested Vanguard action, reinforced with an integral recoil lug for rock-solid reliability. The barrel is hammer-forged and spiral-fluted—a combination that promotes consistent accuracy while shedding weight, critical when every ounce matters on a backcountry hunt. The 26-inch barrel in 7mm Rem Mag gives you the velocity and energy needed for extended-range shooting, yet remains manageable in brush and tight country. All the hard-wear surfaces—barrel, receiver, bolt, safety—are finished in graphite black Cerakote, a modern coating that resists the corrosion and wear that comes with pack-in hunts and exposure to elevation and moisture.

The stock is where the Outfitter's purpose becomes clear: a tan polymer Monte Carlo with a brown and white sponge paint finish. That's not flash; it's function. The Monte Carlo profile provides solid cheek weld and sight line geometry, while the polymer shrugs off the scratches and nicks that turn nice walnut into a wrecked investment. The trigger is Weatherby's crisp two-position, adjustable to your preference. Together, these elements—proven action, fluted barrel, modern finishes, practical stock—make the Vanguard Outfitter a no-compromise rifle for hunters who plan to use it hard and expect it to work every time.
