The Weatherby Vanguard Outfitter in 6.5 PRC is a modern mountain hunting rifle built on one of the most proven bolt-action platforms in the industry. It combines the legendary reliability of Weatherby's Vanguard action—refined over five decades—with practical features designed for serious high-country hunters: a hammer-forged barrel for consistent accuracy, a crisp two-position trigger, and a durable finish that stands up to hard use and harsh weather.
This rifle wears a graphite black Cerakote finish on the barrel, receiver, bolt, bolt knob, and safety—protecting metal surfaces from the elements without sacrificing functionality. The tan polymer Monte Carlo stock features hand-applied brown and white sponge paint, giving it a rugged, field-ready appearance that blends practical camo patterning with weather-resistant materials. The spiral-fluted barrel reduces overall weight while maintaining the rigidity you need for reliable long-range shooting.
Built for hunters who demand both performance and durability in tough terrain, the Vanguard Outfitter pairs the famous Weatherby accuracy heritage with no-nonsense aesthetics. The integral recoil lug ensures a rock-solid action that handles the 6.5 PRC's potent energy, while the two-position trigger lets you choose between field-ready and precision modes. Whether you're glassing ridges in the high country or closing the distance on an elk, this rifle is engineered to deliver when conditions are anything but ideal.

The 6.5 PRC is a modern magnum cartridge designed for extended-range performance. We can't speak to specific ballistics or game suitability without knowing your intended use, but we recommend consulting ballistic charts and talking with our team about your particular hunting goals.
The two-position trigger lets you switch between two different settings—one suited for field conditions and another for more deliberate, precision shooting. This versatility is handy when your hunting situation changes from a quick stalk to a long-distance shot.
The spiral fluting reduces barrel weight while maintaining structural rigidity. The hammer-forged barrel construction is designed for consistent accuracy regardless of the fluting, but we'd recommend getting behind the rifle to see how it groups—every shooter's preference is different.
