Weatherby
The Weatherby Vanguard Talon 6.5 Creed 24" is a lightweight hunting rifle built for backcountry hunters who need to carry far and shoot straight. Weighing just 6.2 lbs, this bolt-action rifle combines Weatherby's renowned accuracy and build quality with a carbon fiber stock that shaves over a pound off standard Vanguard models—making it one of the leanest production rifles you can buy. The 6.5 Creedmoor chambering delivers excellent ballistics for medium to long-range hunting without the recoil punish of a magnum, and the included Accubrake ST helps manage what little recoil there is.
The Talon's engineering speaks to serious field use. Its Peak 44 Blacktooth carbon fiber stock weighs just 19 ounces and features the same design Weatherby uses on their Backcountry Ti 2.0 line. The 3DHEX recoil pad absorbs impact effectively, while the threaded Accubrake ST comes standard—no need to hunt down an accessory. The barrel is cold hammer forged for accuracy that matters: Weatherby guarantees all Vanguards shoot sub-MOA (0.99" or less) three-shot groups at 100 yards from a cold barrel when fired with Weatherby factory or premium ammunition.
The action is equally refined. A two-stage match-grade trigger breaks clean and predictable. The one-piece machined bolt features a fluted body and fully enclosed bolt sleeve, the safety offers three positions, and an integral recoil lug handles the cartridge's push. Tungsten Cerakote on the barrel and receiver, graphite black on the bolt and safety, and that distinctive green and white accented carbon fiber stock create a rifle that looks as purposeful as it performs. This is the gun you want when the shot matters and the miles are long.
