The Weatherby Vanguard Bronze in .243 Winchester is a mid-range hunting rifle that marries rugged aesthetics with genuine field performance. Built on Weatherby's proven Vanguard platform, this .243 Win rifle pairs a cold hammer-forged barrel with a burnt bronze Cerakote finish on the barreled action and trigger guard—a look that stands out at the range or in the field without the premium price tag of a fully custom build. Each rifle is hand-fitted during assembly to ensure proper alignment and stock-to-action stability, a detail that matters when you're counting on consistent accuracy in the field.

The .243 Winchester is a natural fit for hunters chasing medium game and varmints, offering manageable recoil, flat trajectory, and proven stopping power within reasonable ranges. The 22-inch #2 contour barrel is threaded 1/2 x 28 for suppressor compatibility or muzzle device installation, giving you flexibility to customize for your hunting situation. The polymer Monte Carlo stock features bronze webbing that echoes the cerakote finish, creating a cohesive visual design. Inside, you get a fluted bolt body and fully enclosed bolt sleeve that reduce weight without sacrificing strength, plus a cold hammer-forged barrel for durability and accuracy potential straight out of the box.

Reliability and shooter control come standard. The rifle features an adjustable match-quality two-stage trigger for clean, predictable breaks, a 3-position safety that's intuitive under pressure, and a hinged floorplate for easy unloading and cleaning. The integral recoil lug ties everything together for a solid, stable platform. This is a hunting rifle designed to be used—not displayed—backed by features you'd find on rifles costing significantly more.

What is the .243 Winchester good for?
