Weatherby Unprimed Brass Rifle Cartridge Cases in .224 Wby are purpose-built for reloaders who demand consistency and precision. This 20-count box of unprimed brass gives you a clean foundation for handloading, with CNC-machined primer pockets that meet Weatherby's strict grade specifications. Whether you're loading for precision target work or preparing ammo for varmint hunting, starting with quality brass is non-negotiable—and Weatherby brass delivers the dimensional uniformity serious reloaders expect.
These cases arrive unprimed, giving you full control over your reloading process and allowing you to match primers to your specific load. The manufacturing process includes annealing to ensure the brass expands and contracts properly during firing and reloading, promoting a secure hold on the bullet and extending case life. Fair warning: you may notice a slight discoloration near the neck—that's a signature of the annealing process and doesn't affect performance.
Before you start loading, take the time to size, deburr, and chamber each case. The manufacturing and shipping process can leave the case mouth slightly out of round, so proper prep is essential for consistent ammunition and reliable feeding. This foundational work pays dividends in accuracy and safety downstream.

That slight stain is a normal result of the annealing process used during manufacturing. Annealing heats the brass to a specified temperature and then cools it rapidly, which ensures proper expansion and contraction flexibility and a secure hold on the bullet. It does not affect performance.
