Weatherby
The Weatherby Mark V High Country 300Wby 28" bolt-action rifle is purpose-built for hunters who demand lightweight performance without compromise in the backcountry. At 5.7 pounds, this magnum rifle is engineered to handle steep elevation gains and long stalks where every ounce matters. The Mark V platform brings Weatherby's legendary magnum accuracy to mountain hunting, and the High Country variant strips away excess weight through intelligent design—not corner-cutting—making it an excellent choice for Western big-game hunting where terrain and distance demand precision.
The foundation is Peak 44's Bastion carbon fiber stock, which tips the scales at just 24 ounces and features a vertical grip shaped for solid control on steep slopes. Dual front swivel studs let you run a sling or bipod setup without fiddling with proprietary attachments. Recoil management is serious business with a 300 Weatherby Magnum, and Weatherby equipped the High Country with an Accubrake muzzle device and a 3DHEX Recoil pad—real features that matter when you're shooting off a pack or improvised field rest at elevation.
The finish is built for mountain duty: a spiral-fluted barrel and receiver finished in Graphite Black Cerakote provide a durable, low-reflection surface. The bolt, bolt knob, and safety follow suit in the same tough coating. The stock itself wears exposed carbon fiber with WYO brown and backpack sponge accents—functional camo that blends high country terrain. This rifle doesn't sacrifice reliability or accuracy for lightness; it simply focuses every design decision on the hunter who hikes far to hunt far.
