The Weatherby Mark V Camilla Ultra Lightweight in .280 Ackley Improved is a purpose-built hunting rifle designed specifically for female shooters who demand both precision and manageable recoil. At just 5.8 pounds, this rifle handles like a dream in the field—whether you're glassing ridges for elk, navigating timber for whitetail, or working steep terrain where every ounce matters. The .280 Ackley Improved delivers flat-shooting, hard-hitting performance with minimal flinch, making it ideal for hunters who want serious ballistics without the punishment of heavier magnums.
What sets the Camilla apart is ergonomics built around how women actually shoot. The 13-inch length of pull fits naturally without awkward reach, the slimmer grip and gently swept palm swell nestle into your hand, and the higher comb aligns your eye properly behind a scope without forcing your head into an uncomfortable position. The recoil pad features an angled cant that sits right against a woman's shoulder geometry, reducing felt recoil and improving consistency shot to shot. These aren't afterthoughts—they're core to how the rifle functions.
The rifle's composite stock, reinforced with aluminum bedding blocks, keeps shot-to-shot groups tight even after a long day of hunting. The Midnight Bronze Cerakote on the barrel and receiver pairs with Graphite Black hardware, giving the rifle a professional, no-nonsense finish that handles weather and wear. The hand-laid fiberglass stock in black with Smoke and Gold accents looks sharp without being flashy. With a 24-inch #1 contour barrel, 1-9 twist rate, and 4+1 magazine capacity, you've got the velocity and quick follow-ups a serious hunter needs.
This is a rifle for women who hunt hard and expect their gear to work as hard as they do—no compromise, no "shrunk-down" feeling, just genuine design intelligence and lightweight performance.
