Weatherby
The Weatherby 307 Range XP 2.0 in .257 Weatherby Magnum is a modern bolt-action rifle built on Weatherby's newest action platform, designed for hunters and shooters who want a versatile, customizable hunting rifle without sacrificing factory reliability. The 307 action is a clean-sheet design featuring a 2-lug fully cylindrical bolt, engineered to play well with today's ecosystem of aftermarket stocks, triggers, rails, and mounts—so you're not locked into a proprietary ecosystem if you want to tinker or upgrade down the line. This particular Range XP 2.0 configuration pairs that action with a 26-inch fluted barrel in .257 Weatherby, a cartridge known for flat trajectories and solid downrange velocity on medium to large game, chambered in a rifle that handles range duty as comfortably as mountain hunting.
The stock is hand-painted in a green and grey sponge pattern with a graphite black cheek piece—a functional, modern aesthetic that breaks up a silhouette without being overwrought. The barrel, receiver, trigger guard, and bolt knob are finished in graphite black Cerakote, a durable ceramic coating that resists corrosion and handling wear. The fluted barrel reduces weight and aids cooling between strings. The magazine capacity is 6+2 (six in the magazine, two in the chamber).
If you shoot a lot at distance or spend time glassing from the truck before hiking in, the .257 Weatherby's ballistics and the 307's aftermarket flexibility make this a rifle you can fine-tune to your own standards. It's a purpose-built range and hunting platform, not a marketing exercise.
