Weatherby
The Weatherby 307 Alpine CT in .243 Winchester is a lightweight, modern hunting rifle built on Weatherby's newest bolt-action platform—designed to deliver the range accuracy and field-ready performance serious hunters demand without the weight penalty. Developed in partnership with PEAK 44, this Alpine CT brings together a proprietary composite stock, carbon barrel technology, and muzzle brake engineering into a rifle that balances precision with packability for backcountry hunts and long-range shooting.
The Model 307 action is a 2-lug fully cylindrical design that accepts a wide range of aftermarket stocks, triggers, rails, and optic mounts—future-proofing your investment and giving you flexibility to customize. The heart of the Alpine CT is the BSF carbon barrel topped with Weatherby's Accubrake DST (Directional Self-Timing Brake), a combination that manages recoil and enhances shooting comfort without sacrificing accuracy. The .243 Winchester cartridge offers mild recoil and excellent ballistics for medium-game hunting and target work, making this rifle equally at home on the range or in the field.
Weight is a defining feature: the PEAK 44 Bastion stock weighs just 24 ounces and incorporates a proprietary 3D-Hex recoil pad to further soften felt recoil. The receiver and muzzle brake are finished in Chocolate Brown Cerakote, while the bolt and knob wear Graphite Black Cerakote. The stock showcases exposed carbon fiber with WYO brown and backpack brushed sponge accents—a functional aesthetic that hints at this rifle's purpose. If you're building a backcountry rifle or seeking a modern, lightweight .243 that punches above its weight class, the Alpine CT deserves a hard look.

If you plan to upgrade or modify the rifle down the road, this modular approach makes it straightforward.
Yes. The .243 Winchester is a capable, versatile cartridge for hunting medium-sized game and is also popular for target shooting and training. It offers mild recoil, making it manageable for shooters of various builds and experience levels, while delivering effective ballistics for its intended use cases.
The BSF carbon barrel is engineered for accuracy and consistency. The Accubrake DST (Directional Self-Timing Brake) works in concert with the barrel to reduce recoil impulse and muzzle rise, which helps with shot placement and follow-up shots. Combined with the stock's 3D-Hex recoil pad, the rifle is notably comfortable to shoot despite its lightweight design.
The PEAK 44 Bastion stock uses proprietary composite materials and carbon fiber construction to minimize weight without sacrificing rigidity or durability. A lighter overall rifle means less fatigue on long hunts and easier handling in brush or steep terrain—which is exactly what the Alpine CT was engineered to do.
