Volquartsen
The Volquartsen Recoil Buffer for 10/22 and 10/22 Magnum is a straightforward upgrade that addresses a common annoyance in rimfire shooting: the sharp metallic clang and vibration that comes from the bolt slamming into the receiver on each cycle. This drop-in polyurethane bolt stop pin replaces your factory pin and cushions that impact, transforming the shooting experience from a harsh metal-on-metal collision to a dampened, quieter operation. If you shoot your 10/22 regularly—whether at the range, in your backyard, or hunting small game—you'll notice the difference immediately.
Installation couldn't be simpler: this is a direct replacement for the stock bolt stop pin, so you swap out the old one for the new polyurethane version and you're done. No gunsmithing, no special tools, no fiddling with other components. The buffer eliminates vibration that would otherwise travel through the receiver and into your hands, which also contributes to a cleaner, less fatiguing shooting session during longer days at the range.
Volquartsen has built a reputation for thoughtful 10/22 upgrades that respect the rifle's simplicity while genuinely improving how it performs and feels. This recoil buffer is one of those understated parts that owners keep coming back for—not because it's flashy, but because it works and because a 10/22 spends most of its life being shot, so reducing noise and vibration pays dividends over time.
Yes, the Volquartsen Recoil Buffer is designed to work with both standard 10/22 and 10/22 Magnum rifles.
No. This is a drop-in replacement for the factory bolt stop pin, so installation requires only removing the old pin and installing the new one—no special tools or modifications needed.
You'll notice less noise when the bolt cycles and significantly reduced vibration when shooting. The harsh metallic clang that comes from the bolt hitting the receiver will be noticeably dampened.
The recoil buffer addresses vibration and noise from bolt impact. Depending on your goals, other 10/22 upgrades may complement or address different aspects of function, but this buffer specifically solves the metal-to-metal impact issue.
