The Viridian RFX 44 is a closed emitter green dot sight built for shooters who demand speed and clarity in rapid-fire scenarios. Unlike traditional reflex sights, Viridian's closed emitter architecture eliminates the dot acquisition delay that can cost you critical milliseconds—the electronics sit at the top of the unit, streamlining your line of sight while keeping the overall footprint compact. This design also shields the optic from dust, moisture, and debris, so it performs reliably whether you're running drills at the range or carrying for duty.

The 5 MOA green dot reticle is where the RFX 44 really shines. Green wavelengths align with how the human eye naturally perceives light, giving you a brighter, crisper sight picture than traditional red dots—especially in varied lighting. Viridian's proprietary multi-coated green lens ensures exceptional color transmission and crystal-clear glass, so you see what you're aiming at without compromise. Battery life won't slow you down either: INSTANT-ON activation and auto shut-off mean the sight is ready when you are and won't drain power while sitting dark.

Machined from 6061 aluminum and paired with a low mount, the RFX 44 is sized and spec'd for modern tactical and carry pistols. Tactile and audible adjustments let you dial in your zero with confidence, and the compact profile won't add bulk to your setup. This is a dependable, no-nonsense optic for shooters who value fast target acquisition and durability over hype.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pistols is the Viridian RFX 44 compatible with?

The RFX 44 is engineered for modern tactical and carry pistols with milled slide cuts or mounting plates. The low mount is included; confirm your platform's compatibility with Viridian's mounting options before purchase.

Why is a green dot better than a red dot?

The human eye is naturally more sensitive to green wavelengths than red. Combined with Viridian's proprietary multi-coated green lens, this produces a brighter, crisper sight picture across a wider range of lighting conditions, helping you lock on target faster.

How long does the battery last?

The RFX 44 uses INSTANT-ON activation and auto shut-off to maximize battery life. Exact runtime depends on usage, but the auto shut-off feature prevents draining when the sight is dark, ensuring the optic is ready when you reach for it.

What's the advantage of a closed emitter design?

Closed emitter sights eliminate the dot acquisition delay found in traditional open-emitter reflex designs and provide superior protection against dust, moisture, and debris. This means faster target lock and more reliable performance in harsh conditions.
