Uncle Mikes
The Uncle Mike's Hammer Extension for Marlin lever action rifles (post-1983 models) solves a real problem for scoped lever-gun shooters: reaching the external hammer cleanly when a low-mounted scope gets in the way. This simple, effective accessory slides over the hammer spur and locks down with Allen screws, giving you a knurled grip surface that's easy to cock even with one hand or heavy gloves. Whether you're hunting from a blind, working through thick timber, or practicing at the range, a hammer extension transforms your rifle's ergonomics without permanent modification.
Uncle Mike's designed this extension to work on either side of the rifle—mount it for right- or left-hand operation depending on your stance and scope placement. The blue finish matches classic Marlin aesthetics while the knurled surface provides genuine purchase, not a slick aftermarket gimmick. It's the kind of no-fuss upgrade that makes your lever gun more shootable, especially if you've already committed to a quality scope.
Installation takes minutes: slip the extension over your hammer spur, align it where you need it, and tighten the Allen screws. No gunsmithing, no permanent changes. If your post-1983 Marlin has been waiting for easier cocking clearance, this is the answer.
The hammer extension is designed to solve scope-to-hammer clearance problems on lever guns. If your low-mounted scope currently makes the hammer spur hard to reach, this extension will give you a higher, easier grip point. Positioning depends on how you mount it relative to your scope placement.
Yes. The Uncle Mike's extension can be mounted on either side of the hammer, so whether you shoot right-handed or left-handed, you can position it for your natural cocking motion.
This extension is designed for Marlin lever action rifles manufactured after 1983. Verify your rifle's year before ordering if you have an older model.
Installation uses Allen screws, so you'll need an appropriate Allen wrench. The extension simply slips over the hammer spur and clamps in place—no drilling, gunsmithing, or permanent modifications.
