Truglo
The TRUGLO TFO Tritium Fiber Optic Green Sight Set brings daylight brilliance and low-light reliability to your 1911 Government in .45 ACP. Truglo's patented combination pairs fiber-optic light-gathering with tritium glow, so you get a bright, sharp sight picture whether you're shooting in harsh sunlight, overcast conditions, or complete darkness. No batteries required—the tritium handles the dark, and the fiber optics amplify ambient light when it's available. That hybrid approach eliminates the single-weakness problem of sights that are great in one condition but sluggish in another.
This set is machined from steel and cut for Novak LoMount dovetails on 1911-style slides, making it a direct fit for standard 1911 Government frames with 5-inch barrels, including Ruger SR1911 models. The snag-resistant design won't catch on clothing or holster during the draw, and the fiber-optic elements are concealed from the target's view, preventing giveaway glint. The sights maintain their profile in standard holsters and integrate seamlessly with conventional 1911 ergonomics.
Installation requires dovetail fitting; a competent gunsmith can ensure proper alignment and retention. Once mounted, you'll find the TFO sight picture transitions smoothly across light conditions—no adjustment or adaptation lag. It's the working shooter's solution to the old trade-off between daylight speed and night-fighting capability.

If your slide has a different dovetail pattern (such as Bomar, MMC, or Wilson), these sights will not fit without modification. A gunsmith can confirm your slide cut before purchase.
No. The tritium is self-luminous and requires no power source. The fiber optics gather ambient light passively—no batteries or charging needed. This makes them reliable in any condition, from bright outdoors to dim interiors.
Yes. The tritium will glow in low light and darkness, providing a usable sight picture. In total darkness or very dim conditions, the tritium becomes your primary light source, while in daylight the fiber optics dominate for a brighter, faster sight acquisition.
Installation by a competent gunsmith is recommended. Proper dovetail fitting and retention are critical to maintaining zero and ensuring safe operation. While some fitting may be required depending on your slide's tolerances, a qualified smith will ensure they're correctly seated.
