The Troy Industries Tritium Rear Folding BattleSight for AR-15 is a battle-proven flip-sight designed for shooters who need fast, reliable target acquisition in any light condition. Built with self-illuminating tritium that requires no batteries or external power, this rear sight cuts through low-light scenarios—from early morning hunts to defensive situations—and keeps you on target when daylight fades. Troy's optically engineered Di-Optic Aperture (DOA) design centers your eye instantly, delivering a clearer sight picture than conventional round apertures, so you spend less time finding your aim and more time making accurate shots.

This sight is purpose-built to fold flat when not in use, keeping your optic rail uncluttered and protecting the sight from snags or impacts during transport. The dual-position settings—optimized for shots out to 300 meters and up to 550 meters—give you the flexibility to quickly adjust for distance without losing precious seconds in the field. The round black hardcoat anodized finish is durable and resists corrosion, whether you're running a duty rifle, a precision AR platform, or a defensive carbine. Like all Troy products, it's engineered to exceed military specifications and field-tested for reliability when it matters most.

Troy sights are designed for Picatinny rail systems mounted on the receiver itself. Make sure your setup uses a standard receiver-height rail for proper co-witness; railed gas blocks that sit higher or lower than the receiver won't be compatible. If you're building or upgrading an AR and want a no-nonsense rear sight that works in low light, this tritium option gives you the advantage without the bulk.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this sight work with any AR-15 rail system?

This Troy rear sight is designed for standard Picatinny rail systems mounted on the receiver. It will not function properly with railed gas blocks positioned higher or lower than the receiver itself. Make sure your upper receiver rail is at standard height before purchasing.

Does the tritium require batteries or maintenance?

No. Tritium is self-illuminating hydrogen that produces its own light source continuously, with no batteries, charging, or external power needed. It's always ready to use, day or night.

What are the two distance settings for?

The sight has two positions: one optimized for distances up to 300 meters and another for distances up to 550 meters. You can flip between them based on your shooting distance to maintain proper sight alignment.

Can I fold this sight flat when not in use?

Yes. The sight is designed to fold flat against your rifle when folded, keeping your Picatinny rail clear and protecting the sight during storage or transport.
