TriStar
The TriStar Raptor II is a semi-automatic 20-gauge shotgun built for hunters and sport shooters who want a lighter-recoiling option without sacrificing reliability or handling. This Field model pairs a 26-inch barrel with a black synthetic stock and matte blue finish, giving you a trim, no-fuss profile that's easy to carry through brush and comfortable to shoot all day. At 6.5 pounds, it's one of the more manageable semi-autos in its class—a real asset when you're covering ground on upland game or running a clay course.
The Raptor II's chrome-lined barrel is the kind of detail that signals TriStar's attention to longevity: corrosion resistance and easier cleaning matter in the field. A red fiber optic front bead cuts through varying light conditions far better than a traditional brass bead, so you'll acquire your sight picture faster when it counts. The gun feeds smoothly from a 5+1 capacity (five rounds in the magazine tube, one in the chamber) and cycles reliably across a range of loads—from light target rounds to full-power field loads.
Ergonomically, the cross-bolt safety is intuitive and positioned where your thumb naturally rests, and the synthetic stock handles moisture and temperature swings without warping. Three chokes ship with the gun (Full, Modified, and Improved Cylinder), giving you the flexibility to dial in your pattern for whatever you're hunting or breaking clays. The chamber accepts 3-inch shells, so you can run everything from 2.75-inch target loads up to the heavier 3-inch offerings.
If you're stepping into semi-auto shotguns, prefer a lighter gun, or just want a 20-gauge that won't beat you up after a long day afield, the Raptor II Field is a straightforward, well-built choice.
