The Tristar Arms Setter S/T is a 12-gauge over-under shotgun built for hunters and clay shooters who want a reliable, well-balanced gun without unnecessary frills. With a 28-inch barrel, 3-inch chamber, and Turkish walnut furniture, this model delivers the classic handling and durability expected of a quality over-under at a price that won't break the bank. The Setter S/T combines a solid, sealed frame design with steel mono-block barrel construction—features that keep the action tight and the internals protected from dirt and weather.

Practical features dominate the spec sheet. The gun ships with five interchangeable Beretta-style choke tubes (IC, M, F) so you can tailor your pattern for everything from close-cover birds to open-field work. A single selective trigger lets you choose which barrel fires first via the top-tang safety—slide it right for the top barrel, left for the bottom. Self-adjusting locking lugs and extractors mean the gun will cycle reliably as it ages, and the ventilated top and mid-ribs help manage recoil and keep your sight picture clean. Chrome-lined chambers and barrels resist corrosion, and the rubber recoil pad absorbs the thump.

The Setter S/T rounds out at 7.2 pounds, keeping it manageable for a full day in the field. The engraved receiver and semi-gloss walnut stock give it the look of a gun that belongs in a truck bed or a blind. This is honest, functional shotgun design—no plastic, no gimmicks, just a proven action type that's worked for over a century.

Frequently Asked Questions

What chokes come with the Setter S/T and can I use different ones?

The shotgun includes five Beretta-style choke tubes: Improved Cylinder, Modified, and Full. All three constrictions are supplied along with a choke box and wrench for easy swaps. Since it uses the Beretta Mobile style system, you can source aftermarket chokes from major manufacturers that share the same standard.

How do I choose which barrel fires first?

The top-tang safety doubles as a barrel selector. When you engage the safety, slide it to the right to fire the top barrel first, or to the left to fire the bottom barrel first. This gives you the flexibility to choose your preferred sequence without breaking the gun open.

Is this shotgun suitable for both hunting and clay shooting?

Yes. The 28-inch barrel, ventilated ribs, and included choke tube selection make it versatile enough for hunting upland birds and waterfowl, as well as trap and skeet work. The fiber optic sight aids target acquisition in the field or at the range.

What's included in the box?

You get the shotgun, five interchangeable Beretta-style choke tubes (IC, M, F), a choke storage box, a choke wrench for installation and removal, and a rubber recoil pad already fitted to the stock.
