TriStar
The TriStar Cypherx over/under shotgun in 12 gauge is a versatile, affordable option for hunters and sport shooters who want a traditional double-barrel platform without breaking the bank. Built around a lightweight aluminum alloy receiver, the Cypherx delivers reliable cycling and durability across upland game, waterfowl, and clay shooting scenarios. The 28-inch barrel strikes a practical balance between sight picture and handling, and the satin deluxe walnut furniture gives it a classic, professional appearance on the range or in the field.
One of the Cypherx's standout features is its selective ejector system, which automatically ejects fired shells while allowing unfired rounds to lift clear for manual removal—a real convenience when you're working through a hunting day or a shooting course. The fiber optic front sight is bright and easy to acquire in low light, and the gun comes with five extended choke tubes covering the full spread from Cylinder through Full, letting you dial in the right pattern for your quarry or target distance without swapping barrels.
If you're stepping into over/under shotguns or looking for a no-fuss workhorse that handles multiple shooting disciplines, the Cypherx combines proven design with practical features at a realistic price point. It's not trendy, but it works—the kind of gun that stays reliable when conditions get rough.
| Gauge | 12 |
| Barrel Length | 28 inches |
| Receiver Material | Aluminum alloy |
| Stock Material | Satin deluxe walnut |
| Ejection System | Selective ejectors |
| Front Sight | Fiber optic |
| Choke Tubes Included | 5 (C, IC, M, IM, F) |

The shotgun ships with five extended choke tubes: Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full. This gives you coverage for everything from close-range bird flushing to distance waterfowl or turkeys. The gun is designed to accept the included extended choke tubes; compatibility with other aftermarket systems depends on the tube standard and should be verified before purchase.
Yes. The 28-inch barrel and balanced receiver profile work well for both upland game and waterfowl hunting, as well as trap and skeet. The selective ejectors and five choke options let you adapt quickly between disciplines without changing guns.
Selective ejectors automatically kick out fired shells when you break open the gun, but allow unfired rounds to simply lift out of the chambers so you can manually retrieve them. This saves time reloading and reduces the risk of losing live ammo in the field.
The fiber optic front sight gathers ambient light and glows visibly even in dim conditions, making it easier to establish a quick sight picture on moving targets or in early-morning and late-evening hunting light. It's a practical upgrade over traditional metal beads.
