TriStar
The TriStar Cypher over/under shotgun is built for hunters and sport shooters who want a reliable, versatile 20-gauge platform without overcomplicating things. This model pairs a steel receiver with a 28-inch barrel to give you the handling balance you need in the field, whether you're working upland game, clay courses, or mixed hunting scenarios. The walnut stock isn't just traditional—it's satin deluxe walnut, finished to look good and wear well under actual use.
What sets the Cypher apart in its class is the attention to practical details. Selective ejectors mean you only eject the fired shell, leaving the unfired round in the chamber—a feature that speeds up reloads and keeps things clean. The fiber optic sight gives you a visible aiming point in varying light conditions, which matters when you're swinging on fast-moving targets. The CT-5 Extended choke system is the real workhorse here: you get five choke tubes (Cylinder, Improved Cylinder, Modified, Improved Modified, and Full) that let you adapt to different shooting situations without buying a new gun.
TriStar built this gun for people who actually use their shotguns, not collectors watching them hang on a wall. The Cypher delivers the kind of straightforward performance and modularity that makes sense for both the driven-bird season and the weekend range session. It's a 20-gauge that doesn't feel like a compromise—it patterns clean, swings naturally, and the walnut stock gives it the kind of aesthetic appeal that makes you want to reach for it again.

Yes. Fiber optic sights gather ambient light and create a visible aiming point, which helps in early morning, late evening, and overcast conditions where traditional bead sights can fade into the background. It's a practical upgrade that many hunters appreciate in variable light.
Selective ejectors automatically eject only the fired shell when you open the action. The unfired round stays in its chamber, so you can reload faster and don't waste ammunition if you don't fire both barrels. This is a feature more commonly found on quality shotguns.
Yes. The 28-inch barrel on the Cypher offers a good balance between sight radius and maneuverability, making it a solid choice for upland game birds in brush and open country. It's long enough to pattern cleanly with the included chokes and short enough to mount quickly on flushing targets.
