Traditions
The Traditions Buckstalker XT .50 cal muzzleloader is a purpose-built black powder rifle for modern hunters who want an accurate, dependable firearm without the weight penalty. This .50 caliber muzzleloader pairs a 24-inch Chromoly steel barrel with a black synthetic stock, creating a compact package that handles equally well in dense brush and across open fields. It ships ready to hunt: the included 3-9x40 scope comes mounted and boresighted so you can get to the range or stand with minimal prep.
What sets the Buckstalker XT apart is attention to details that matter in the field. The Elite XT trigger delivers a clean, predictable break, while the Dual Safety System—combining a rebounding hammer and manual cross-block safety—gives you confidence in every handling scenario. The proprietary Accelerator Breech Plug removes by hand in three turns and fires both loose and pelletized powder, so you're not locked into one loading method. The 1:28 twist rifling stabilizes .50 cal projectiles for consistent accuracy out to 200+ yards, making this platform viable for typical hunting ranges without requiring magnum charges.
Loading is straightforward thanks to the Quick-T Ramrod Handle, which functions as both a comfortable palm saver and a fully functional cleaning rod—the included brass jag screws right in. The solid aluminum ramrod paired with the Speed Load System promotes consistent groups shot to shot. Drilled and tapped receiver, sling swivel studs, and an extended ambidextrous hammer extension complete a no-compromise feature set. This is a working hunter's muzzleloader: lightweight, maneuverable, and accurate enough to close the distance on game.
The 209 shotgun primer ignition system is proven and reliable, and the blued barrel finish protects steel while maintaining a classic appearance. If you're looking for a .50 cal black powder rifle that handles modern convenience features without sacrificing field performance, the Buckstalker XT delivers real hunting versatility at practical weight.
