Thompson Center
The Thompson Center Encore Prohunter Katahdin rifle barrel in .45-70 Government is built for hunters who demand serious power on medium to large game. This 20-inch blued barrel transforms your Encore platform rifle into a hard-hitting brush gun, delivering the stopping authority of one of America's most respected big-game cartridges. The Katahdin model pairs proven .45-70 ballistics with Thompson Center's legendary build quality—swap it onto your existing Encore receiver and you're ready to hunt without buying a whole new rifle.
The 11/16-24 threaded muzzle opens up customization options: thread on a suppressor for hearing protection, add a brake to manage recoil, or use a thread cap if you prefer iron sights. The blued finish delivers classic aesthetics backed by corrosion resistance, while the barrel's profile balances weight and handling for all-day hunting comfort. Whether you're pursuing elk in the high country, hunting hogs in dense cover, or working up accurate loads at the range, this barrel brings precision and stopping power to your Encore platform.
Thompson Center built the Encore system on the principle of flexibility—choose your caliber, your stock configuration, and your hunting mission without reinvesting in a complete rifle each time. The Katahdin .45-70 barrel is a no-compromise choice for hunters who plan to put down game decisively.
