Thompson Center
The Thompson Center Encore Katahdin 400 Legend barrel is a stainless steel drop-in replacement barrel built for serious accuracy and all-weather durability. If you already own an Encore Katahdin rifle platform and want to add a new caliber or extend the life of your receiver, this 20-inch stainless barrel transforms your setup into a dedicated 400 Legend shooter—no gunsmithing required. The fluted profile maximizes rigidity while keeping weight down, and Thompson Center test-fires every Pro Hunter barrel at 100 yards to confirm accuracy before it ships.
The 400 Legend is a modern, efficient straight-wall cartridge gaining real traction with hunters who want a flatter-shooting, longer-range option compared to traditional handgun rounds, yet still respect the spirit of straight-wall regs in certain states. This barrel's stainless construction means it'll hold up to field use, wet conditions, and the elements without sacrificing the accuracy that makes the 400 Legend appealing in the first place.
Because it comes drilled and tapped for scope mounts, you can mount an optic directly to the barrel with standard rings—no milling, no trips to a gunsmith. Simply swap it onto your Encore Katahdin frame and you're ready to work up loads. Keep in mind this barrel is engineered specifically for the Encore series; it will not fit Contender or G2 Contender frames.
