The TekMat Remington 870 Mat is a purpose-built shotgun cleaning mat designed specifically for the Remington 870 platform. This 12" × 36" mat gives you a dedicated workspace for field stripping, maintenance, and detailed cleaning of your 870 without worrying about losing small parts or scratching your gun on a hard surface. Whether you're at the range, in camp, or at the bench between hunting seasons, a quality mat makes the job faster and keeps your gear organized.

What sets TekMat's design apart is the 1/8" cushioned padding underneath—it's not just comfort. That padding absorbs impacts, protects your shotgun from dings during disassembly, and dampens the noise of tools and springs popping off. The top surface is soft and treated to resist oil and water, so routine bore cleaning and lubrication won't stain or degrade the mat. The printed diagram on the mat itself is functional: it shows you exactly how the 870 breaks down and goes back together, which is genuinely useful if you're new to the gun or just need a visual reference mid-job.

The mat rolls up and ships in a sturdy tube, so it travels well to the range or on hunting trips. You also get a small microfiber TekTowel included—handy for wiping down your gun after cleaning or drying off light solvents without leaving lint behind. It's the kind of thoughtful addition that shows TekMat understands what actually matters when you're maintaining a working shotgun.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will this mat fit a disassembled Remington 870?

Yes. The 12" × 36" dimensions are sized to handle a fully broken-down 870 with space left over for your cleaning rod, brush, solvent bottle, and other small tools.

Is the mat waterproof?

The surface is treated to be oil and water-resistant, which means spilled solvents and light moisture won't soak through or stain it. It's not designed as a waterproof barrier, but it handles the mess of routine gun cleaning without absorbing liquids.

Can I use this mat for other shotguns or rifles?

While the printed diagram is specific to the Remington 870, the mat itself is just a padded work surface. You can use it for cleaning any firearm that fits within the 12" × 36" dimensions. However, the disassembly diagram won't apply to other guns.

What's included in the tube?

The mat, a small microfiber TekTowel, and the protective tube for storage and transport.
